Ben McDonald’s Caramel Apple Pork Chops
Ingredients:
4 boneless pork chops, ¾ inch thick
2 Tbs. brown sugar
¼ tsp. Cinnamon
⅛ tsp ground nutmeg
2 Tbs. butter
2 medium honeycrisp apples
3 Tbs. pecans
Directions:
Heat skillet over medium heat. Saute pork chops, 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally until both sides are evenly browned and cooked to 145 degrees. Remove from heat and keep warm. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add butter to skillet. Stir in brown sugar mixture and apples. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove apples with slotted spoon and place on top of pork chops; keep warm. Continue cooking mixture in skillet, uncovered, until sauce thickens slightly. Spoon sauce over apples and chops. Sprinkle with pecans.
